On December 18th, 1946 was born the film director and businessman Steven Allan Spielberg, he is Hollywood's best known director and one of the wealthiest filmmakers in the world.
In 1969 he won major awards and earned a contract with Universal. He directed his first featured film "The Sugarland Express" in 1974.  The film was so successful that it was released in theatres. it was the beginning of a career of many successes. Shortly after, Spielberg directed " Jaws" which produced more than $100 million. Other prominent films were were " E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" in 1982;  "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in 1981; and among others

Amblin Entertainment is an American film production company founded by director and producer Steven Spielberg, and film producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. As a producer, he was very active in the late 90s, responsible for such films as The Mask of Zorro in 1998, Men in Black in 1997 Deep Impact and in 1998. However, it was on the directing front that Spielberg was in top form. He directed and produced the epic Amistad in 1997, a spectacular film that was shorted at the Oscars and in release due to the fact that its release date was moved around so much in late 1997.

Both a classic movie for kids and a remarkable portrait of childhood, E.T is a sci-fi adventure that captures that strange moment in youth when the world is a place of mysterious possibilities and the universe seems somehow separate from the inhabited by grown ups.
