Personal Statement

I have chosen to study ……..because I have developed an interest as I got to know more and more about this subject area through search and TV broadcasts. I believe that a university degree would be very useful to get me to the right path, opening new doors and take me to where I want to be, also, it will help me in the enrichment of my show reel DVD and the development of my skills throughout the years I will spend at university. Within this course I want to focus on visual effects, because this is the most enthusiastic part for me, where I get to put out there my creativity and imagination also getting more acknowledge and skills on the real world of animation.

I am currently studying on my Level 3 Extended Diploma on Creative Media Production and Technology which I am targeting to focus more on moving image, enhancing my skills at software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Auditions and Adobe After Effects. It has been a challenging journey since when I started with the Media studies in Level 2, where it’s helped me learned the basics of Media covering several Units, that includes digital production, a lot of analysis and technical elements of graphics design. In order to have a better understanding on the subject, this has required a lot of researches so that later on I could create my own websites, campaigns, short films and posters as part of Unit 5&14.

Unit 9 was more focussed on analysing the stages of production; this was a topic that was mostly important for me because it was where I created my own moving image stories, and published it, being able to express my thoughts througt it depending on the theme. In my first year of Level 3 I learnt more about the sound effects, editing techniques and photography, in which has helped me improve my communication skills during focus groups and presentations as well as engaging with the camera.
